Class of 2025

Leadership Augusta Class of 2025 is more than ready to begin their leadership journey. To start the program, our class headed to Augusta University Summerville campus for Leadership Afternoon. A throwback in time for some, a new experience for others, and an everyday experience for those working on campus.

The focus of the afternoon was to make introductions and begin our deep dive into who we are as a class and what to expect in the coming months. Our Chair and Co-Chair, Al and Sarah, introduced a few board members and alumni to share their experiences. Afterward, Katie Wynn, from Dynamik Consulting spoke to us about the power of behaviors and personalities using Insights Discovery.

She split us up into groups and created conversations based on perceptions, individual experiences and preferences that allowed us as a whole to be able to connect on a deeper level in a quick amount of time. From there we discussed how Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow energies think and feel. Both on a "good day" and a "bad day". From this we learned that each color brings valuable skills to the table and every person has all four color energies in us, which make us unique. We did this demonstration physically by picking a corner labeled with our preferred color energy and moved around from our first choice, to second, to third and then forth. Using this demonstration, it was easier to see who you might get along with and others who you may need to work harder to reach common ground. In an effort to include everyone I was going to sign off as each color, but as a yellow I found it hard to not express my excitement in each signature. So instead, I will share each color's motto.

"Be bright, be brief, be gone" - Fiery Red

"Give me the details" - Cool Blue

"Show me you care" - Earth Green

"Involve me"- Sunshine Yellow

Leadership Afternoon was followed by a celebration at Meet the Class, which was hosted at the Phinizy House, a beautiful new event venue at 529 Greene Street. Light appetizers and drinks were served as the new class was warmly welcomed by family members, board members and alumni.
